Fizz

Fizz was shot on less than three rolls of borrowed film stock on the coldest day of the winter of 1998. The budget was $2000, which had to pay for everything. The film took two nights to shoot.

The end result is a colourful 35mm, larger than life, audience winning movie.

The film is directed by Jason Stutter, winner of the Screen Producers and Directors Associations Young Film Maker of the Year Award 1998. Jason also wrote the story and produced the movie.

The human star of the movie, Jemaine Clement, definately had his work cut out for him. Not only did he have to work in the cold with a vending machine, but he also had only one take to do everything in, given the budget restraints. Jemaine won the Billy T James Comedian of the Year Award in 1998.

Fizz has no dialogue but Matt Stutters sound design is a true test of any theatre’s sound system. Plan9 once again produced a fantastic high energy score that will also test the sound system as well as the audiences stomachs for bass.
