The Whole of the Moon

One day while skating he suddently collapses and is rushed to hospital where a series of tests progressively disclose he is suffering from bone cancer.

He is subjected to chemotherapy and watches as his friends shy away from him and his dreams of winning the National Skating Championship disappear.

In the hospital a relationship, at first antagonistic and then gradually romantic, with the mysterious Marty.

Marty, a fellow cancer patient, is an ex-street kid with a history of drugs, broken homes and violence.

Strangely through Marty, Kirk develops the strength to survive, despite impending surgery, and his courage inspires Marty to hold on to the last days of her life until, together, they can both experience "The Whole of the Moon".
