NZFC is proud to announce that Māoriland Indigenous Co-Lab and A Wave In The Ocean - 2 Deep Dive are to receive funding from the newly established Industry Led Talent Development Fund.

The NZFC is delighted at today’s announcement from Arts Minister Paul Goldsmith that Graeme Mason has been appointed as the new Chair of the NZFC Board. 

Minister Goldsmith was quoted as saying:

Tomo Mai (The NZFC Application Portal) is open as at 1 August for Feature Film Production Investment (FFPI), Advanced Development (ADF) and International Co-Development Fund (ICF) funding applications.

NZFC has today announced the appointment of Esther Cahill-Chiaroni to the role of Development Lead and Morgan Waru (Ngāti Porou) to the role of Exec – Development and Investment.

Following Minister Goldsmith’s announcement on 2 July 2024, a minor change has been made to the New Zealand Screen Production Rebate Criteria for New Zealand

At the June meeting, the NZFC Board made a conditional offer of equity investment to one film, an additional offer to another, and a non-recoupable grant to another.  

The New Zealand Film Commission is saddened to learn of the death of Hollywood producer Jon Landau, who died on Saturday 6 July NZT.

NZFC has today announced the appointment of Ainsley Gardiner (MNZM) to the role of Head of Funding. Ainsley is of Ngāti Awa, Te Whānau-a-Apanui, Ngāti Pikiao and Te Whakatōhea tribal descent.

NZFC has now finalised decisions on its new structure, to commence 1 July. The final structure has 28 positions disestablished and 15 new roles established, therefore a net reduction of 13 positions.
